Rich Rago is our U16 Tier 1 coach for the 2019-20 season. Before joining the Vipers he coached the Assabet Valley girls, including winning the 2015-16 U12 Tier 2 State Championship. Rich, who has his USA Hockey level 4 coaching certification, has coached every age level of girls youth hockey, including the Littleton/Bromfield middle school team for the last three years. Rich brings a passion for teaching and growing the game with a strong emphasis on being competitive and having fun. Rich was a three-sport athlete in high school at Malden Catholic and also played for the Massachusetts Selects Team. He graduated Wentworth Institute of Technology with a Master of Science degree in Facilities Management.


Chris Papamechail is the Head Coach U16-1. He played hockey at Danvers High, Kimball Union Academy and Wesleyan University. He has extensive coaching credentials, having coached boys and girls over the years, including the Vipers for three years, Danvers Youth Hockey, Lynnfield Ice Cats, Top Gun and New England Edge. He also served as assistant for Danvers High.


Tina Carrabba played hockey at University of New Hampshire from 1996-2000.  While at UNH the team won the ECAC Championships twice and a National Championship in 1998.  Before UNH. She was a four year varsity soccer and tennis player for Billerica Memorial High School and played club hockey for the select team Chelmsford Lions, where she was exposed to multiple college hockey programs and earned three National Championships.  While at UNH she coached for Dover youth hockey pee wee boys program and was a member of the DARE program for youth hockey players.  After graduating, Tina became the first girls high school hockey coach at Billerica High School and is still coaching.  Tina coached for the U12, U14 and U19 girls programs and ran the mite development and mite minor team in Hudson, NH for three years and then became the mite and squirt coordinator for the New England Bulldogs.   Recently Tina has earned Coach of the Year for the Merrimack Valley Conference for the second time and was inducted Into the Hall of Fame at University of New Hampshire with the National Championship team.


Lexi Bender, who is in her third season with the Pride and a former all-Hockey East player in all four of her seasons at Boston College, will coach the Vipers’ U12 Tier One team next season. Bender finished her collegiate career ranked 17th in program history in scoring (95 points), eighth in assists (76), and third in plus/minus (+164).  Bender also set a new program record with 154 games played. 


Kaleigh Fratkin, who will coach the U10 team next season, played four years for Boston University and has played three seasons in the NWHL. The native of Burnaby, Canada never missed a game in her collegiate career and was 2013-14 Hockey East All-Star First Team and Hockey East All-Tournament Team.


Marc Belliveau, who will coach our U12 Tier 2 team, played hockey at Saint Andrew’s College (High School) in Toronto before moving on to Middlebury College, where he was part of two D3 National Championships. His coaching career has included Assistant Coach for Andover High, the Andover Half Season team, Valley Junior Warriors 2005 Elite Team, Andover Hockey Association U10 and Andover Hockey Association.
